SUNDAY MARCH 4: Tales of India: "The King and the Corpse"

This is a retroactive post: Because of technical problems (not to mention procrastination) the following notice did not make it up before the performance. For the record, here's what you missed!

From the “Stories from the Ages” Series at Rasputin’s in Ottawa:

SUNDAY MARCH 4: Tales of the East - "The King and the Corpse"
Tellers: Tom Lips and Gail Anglin.

"The King and the Corpse" is a classic frame story from ancient India, linking twenty-four supernatural and often humorous tales, each of which poses a challenging question. Gail and I will be doing a small but satisfying selection of these tales, together with the hair-raising frame story. Listen as King Trivikramasena struggles to fulfill his promise to retrieve a haunted, mischievous, storytelling corpse from the burning grounds...

STORIES FROM THE AGES AT RASPUTIN'S CAFÉ: Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for food, drink and conversation, and the telling begins at 7:00 and goes till (around) 8:00. Admittance is free, but donations ($8.00 suggested) are invited. Reservations recommended (230-5102). Rasputin's is located at 696 Bronson Ave (1 block north of Carling).
