Tom Shamelessly Promotes HIS NEW CD, “The Devil’s Day Off”!
Dear Matrons and Patrons of the Arts,
As many of you know, I have been working for some time on my new CD, with the help of producer James Stephens and many other gifted musicians and technical folks. It’s taken a year longer than I planned, but I’m delighted and excited to announce that the final product should be in my hands within a week! I’m really pleased with the way the songs have turned out, and I hope you will be too. This is a fun/serious, eclectic collection of original songs, including some that people have been requesting for years.
If any of you are (ahem!) very wisely considering it as a Christmas gift for someone, you can place your orders now and get a head start. There will be an official launch concert in the new year sometime, and eventually the CD will be available from Cdbaby.com. However, if you want to be part of the first wave, before Christmas, you’ll want to order your copy (or copies!) ASAP directly from me. Click here for an updated CD order form to fill out and mail. I’ll get CDs in the mail as quickly as I can.
Every copy purchased helps to fund the next recording. (So many songs, so little time...)
For people in Ottawa who would prefer to pick up a copy in person, please get in touch; I’m planning to set up some opportunities for that to happen before Christmas. Can’t promise to hand-deliver individual copies, but we’ll figure something out!
Many thanks for your interest in my work! Yours appreciatively,
Tom Lips
P.S. If you are one of the many people who participated in my survey to help pick a name for the CD, thanks! I read all the comments and weighed the votes obsessively, then chose the title that felt right to me. “The Devil’s Day Off” won out for a variety of reasons, and I’m learning to live with the risk that the Internet may confuse me with the German heavy metal band of that name...
